Our approach starts with what's already up there
Before I talk about new insulation, I look at what you've already got. I check how many inches are up there, whether it's been soaked by a roof leak or filled with droppings, whether the vents along the eaves are buried and whether any wiring looks wrong. Insulation laid over a leak or bad wiring just hides the problem, and somebody pays to dig it back out later.
Then the work goes in order. Ruined material comes out first with insulation removal. Next comes attic air sealing, closing the gaps around can lights, pipes and the hatch so the new insulation isn't fighting a draft. Last, we lay blown-in insulation or foam evenly out to the edges, where attics usually run thin, and keep the eave vents clear so the attic can breathe.
Insulation contractor services in Dallas, TX
Steadfast Dallas Spray Foam Insulation is an insulation contractor in Dallas, TX, with 16 services covering attics, walls, crawl spaces and the gaps that let air into your house. What it costs mostly turns on the size of the space, how much old material has to come out, how many gaps need sealing and whether foam or loose fill fits your house. Timing depends on what has to happen first, like an electrician fixing wiring, a roof leak getting repaired or a permit coming through. The free written estimate from my visit gives you your own figure.

Foam sprayed into rooflines, walls and floors expands into gaps and seals air while it insulates, which pays off most when ductwork runs through the attic.

Upstairs always too hot? We seal the attic gaps first, then bring the insulation up evenly, edges included, so the rooms below hold their temperature better.

Blown-in insulation is loose fill blown through a hose, the usual way we top up an attic that's thin, once the gaps under it are sealed.

For the whole house, we look at the attic, walls and crawl space together and fix the weakest spot first instead of insulating everything at once.

Old insulation that's been soaked or filled with droppings comes out before anything new goes in, so the smell and the damp don't stay under fresh material.

We insulate under the floor in a crawl space and close the gaps around pipes, which is usually the fix for cold floors in the rooms above.

We insulate wall bays during a remodel or addition while the studs are open, which is the easiest time to fill each cavity and seal around wiring.

We track down and close the leaks around outlets, plumbing, doors and windows that make a house drafty, so rooms hold their temperature longer.

Have a finished basement or a below-grade room? We insulate the walls and the wood band sitting on the foundation, usually with foam that holds back moisture.

Closed-cell foam is dense foam that blocks moisture as well as air, so we use it where damp is a worry, like crawl spaces and below-grade walls.

Open-cell foam is softer and lighter, and costs less than closed-cell. It's a common pick for rooflines and interior walls where moisture isn't the concern.

Commercial insulation is for offices, shops and rental buildings, and we plan around the tenants so the building keeps running while we work.

We lay a heavy plastic sheet over the dirt in a crawl space and seal its seams to keep ground moisture away from the floor framing above.

We install vapor barriers in walls, ceilings and additions before the drywall goes up, placing each sheet on the side that keeps damp from getting trapped inside.

We seal the attic floor before insulating, closing holes where wiring, plumbing and ducts pass through, so the insulation you pay for does its job.

Older house with nothing in the walls? Retrofit insulation fills closed walls through small holes we patch, and adds depth to a thin attic without a remodel.
Why homeowners and landlords hire us
Plenty of crews can blow insulation into an attic. These four things are what you get from us, and each one comes from how we actually run a job.
Clean work in a lived-in home
I learned this trade through years of upkeep in rental buildings full of tenants, so our crew covers the path to the attic, keeps the dust up there and cleans before leaving.
Rentals done without a fuss
Landlords and property managers call us as well as homeowners. We schedule around the people living there and keep the owner posted, so a rental gets its work done without tenants left in the dark.
A straight answer, even if it's no
If your attic just needs sealing, or doesn't need anything, I'll tell you. If wiring needs work first, that goes to a licensed electrician, because the City of Dallas requires one for electrical work, and we come in after.
Permits checked before we start
We check with the city's building office before any job begins. When yours needs a permit, we handle the application and the inspections. Tell us about your job or call (214) 706-4099.
Our process from first call to final check
Here's how a job runs with us, start to finish. You deal with me at the estimate and the final walk-through, and with our crew in between.
Call or send a request
Call (214) 706-4099 or fill out our request form and tell us what's going on, whether it's a hot upstairs, a drafty room or a power bill that keeps climbing. We get back to you within one business day to set up a time to come look.
I look and write the estimate
I come out myself and look at the attic, walls or crawl space, including anything that has to be dealt with before insulation goes in. You get a free written estimate with no obligation, and I walk you through the choices so you can decide without being rushed.
Our crew does the install
Our crew does the work the way the estimate lays it out, and if a permit is needed, we've already handled it with the city. With spray foam, I'll tell you the re-entry time, when it's safe to come back inside, before we start. We clean up before we leave.
We walk the finished job
When the install is done, I check the work and walk it with you, hatch open, so you can see the depth and coverage for yourself. We don't call the job done until that walk-through happens and your questions are answered.
How we help you decide what your house needs
Most calls come down to one choice. Spray foam costs more and seals air while it insulates. Sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in usually gives you more for the money, so that's where I start, unless your ductwork runs through the attic. Then foam on the roofline often earns its price, because it brings the ducts inside the insulated space.
